There are many examples how muscle memory learning is effective in teaching variety of subjects. Whether musicians or martial arts champions, mastery of a skill requires a sequence of repetitive movements that achieve a desired result. This works by taking basic routine movements at a simple and slowed pace in the beginning and then increasing to more advanced techniques over time.
Using this method, participants will use different stimulating visual or audio sources to activate an emotional response, identify the emotion, the physical reaction, and practice self-de-escalation. Training this way in a controlled and safe environment over time works to develop mental muscle memory to help participants recognize their emotional triggers, apply self-de-escalation techniques, and have a rational or trained response, even in the most tense and stressful critical conditions.
